Morecambe Bay Shellfish Farms is working to develop local, sustainable shellfisheries in Morecambe Bay.

We are working with landowners and statutory bodies in Morecambe Bay to improve the management of shellfish beds for mussels and cockles.

By carefully managing the shellfish beds we are aiming to improve the local economy whilst reducing impacts on wildlife.  We will also work to improve safety standards, and address the litter, noise and other anti-social problems that have tarnished the reputation of the shellfish industry over recent years.
